When and where is the Candlelighters tournament?

The Candlelighters baseball tournament is taking place on Saturday and Sunday, August 27-28 at at the beautiful baseball complex, Baseball USA

Why a baseball tournament fundraiser?

We wanted to provide the players and parents of the Houston area, and community at large with a unique and memorable event, one that will be remembered forever! In the process our players will have the opportunity to participate in a unique event and have the opportunity to earn the right to take batting practice at Minute Maid Park and be tutored by former Astros manager Phil Garner!

We are raising money for charity. What charities will benefit?

We are raising money for Candlelighters. The mission of Candlelighters is to provide emotional, educational, and practical support to children with cancer and their families. In addition, Candlelighters desires to promote childhood cancer awareness, and the need for childhood cancer education and research in the Houston community.

How do I get to take batting practice at Minute Maid Park?

The top 15 overall fundraisers will earn the opportunity to take batting practice at Minute Maid Park and be tutored by former Astros manager Phil Garner. Each of the top 15 fundraisers may bring 2 guests to watch them go for the fences! The date and time of batting practice at Minute Maid Park will be determined soon.

If you are playing with your team in the Candlelighters one-day baseball tournament at Baseball USA and are one of the top 12 overall fundraisers you will earn a ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME opportunity to take batting practice at MINUTE MAID PARK and be mentored by former Astro manager Phil Garner. 

If you are not playing in the Candlelighters baseball tournament you may register to raise money for Candlelighters as a non-playing participant.  The top 3 overall fundraisers NOT playing in the tournament will also earn a ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME opportunity to take batting practice at MINUTE MAID PARK and be mentored by former Astro manager Phil Garner.

Are there any other incentive prizes associated with the Candlelighters baseball fundraiser?

All registered players will receive a welcome bag that includes commemorative items.

Can someone donate by mail?

How quickly are donations credited to my player fundraising page?

Online donations are credited immediately. Mailed-in donations can take up to a week to be credited.

When will I get my incentive prizes?

You can pick up your earned incentive prizes at the baseball fundraiser game at Baseball USA.

What do I do with my player fundraising link?

Once you’ve registered and you have your player fundraising link you can send the link to your family and friends by including it in an email, or posting it on your facebook or myspace pages. Your friends and family have the option of donating online through our secure PayPal account or mailing in a donation.
